The heavy snowfall has taken its tole on our infrastructure: trains don't move much, highways and cities are one big slippery traffic jam. Everybody is telling other people: stay at home when you can. To me this is odd, we should be able to cope with a couple of centimeters of snow before ending in total chaos. People are advised by almost anyone to stay indoors and don't hit the road. So I guess the chaos is there, so lets deal with it before it gets worse.
I was able to change most meetings into teleconferences. Odly enough, these meetings were much more efficient than the face-to-face meetings. Perhaps that is a good idea to do in the future: it saves a lot of petrol and frustration.
One meeting I was not able to replace: an audit in East-Germany. Seeing the sad state of airports and trains, I was not able to go back and forth without running the risk of getting stuck somewhere. Given the complexity of the meeting, I was not able to replace it with a teleconference or a Live Meeting. We had to reschedule for just after new year.
