The passwordlocking of the screen when using external power was introduced in the AKU2 update for Windows Mobile 5. All devices running an older operating system do not have this problem.
Sometimes this on-idle password dialog is very inconvenient, for example when you are using your Windows Mobile device in a car for car-navigation or using it as a phone in your car. This modification allows you to disable the password activation when your PocketPC is on external power
This registry modification might not work if your IT department enforces a policy.
This modification in your registry does NOT survive an update of your password settings or a policy enformcement. So each time you update these settings, you have to re-apply this setting.
